Brooklynn Conrad
It’s a Wednesday afternoon at St. Anthony’s School. Base is thumping from the cafeteria. There you’ll find students in the after care program performing a dance routine taught by Brooklynn Conrad (pictured left).
A St. Anthony’s graduate, Brooklynn attends Southside High School and dances with the Starz Artistic Performing Company. She has danced for over ten years. Her favorite style is jazz.
Brooklynn admits with a smile that it wasn’t originally her idea to teach dance, but Principal Sister Catherine Noecker encouraged her to give it a try.
As the students flock around Brooklynn and help pick out music, you can tell they look up to her. “The kids are great,” says Brooklynn, “We all have fun together, but you gotta remind them who’s boss sometimes!”
Brooklynn loves working with the kids and sees it as a great experience as she prepares for college. She wants to become a pediatrician one day.
